Register for fall classes at Oakton and receive three free credit hours

Oakton Community College is stepping up to help students reach their goals this fall by offering three free credit hours of tuition to students who enroll in nine credit hours or more.

Already registered? Students can use the money to add another class or pay for courses in which they are already registered.

"As the community's college, Oakton has the responsibility to help students begin and continue on their educational journey," says Matt Huber, dean of enrollment management. "We are proud to offer ways of minimizing financial barriers that may hinder people from enhancing their learning opportunities."

Students must register by Sept. 7 to receive the free credits. No additional application is needed. Fall courses start Aug. 23.

To enroll in classes, visit www.Oakton.edu/register. For more information, contact the Enrollment Center at enrollmentcenter@oakton.edu, or (847) 635-1700 and (847) 635-1400.

This fall, Oakton will offer more in-person courses with health and safety protocols in place. Plenty of online courses are also available so that students can learn in the way that best helps them reach their goals.

Students who have experienced pandemic-related financial impacts can also apply for Oakton CARES emergency relief grants. Oakton CARES grants, supported by federal stimulus funds and Oakton Educational Foundation resources, can be used for expenses such as tuition, child care, housing and transportation.

All Oakton students are eligible for Oakton CARES grants, even if they have received funding before.
