Barrington Area Conservation Trust's celebrates it 20th anniversary Aug. 28

The Barrington Area Conservation Trust celebrates its 20th anniversary at the "Tartans for the Trust" event. The Celtic spirit will fill the air from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Barrington Hills Park District Riding Center, 361 Bateman Road.

Bagpipes will sound as Barrington Area Conservation Trust kicks off the festivities. Pat McKillan will perform and there will be games and activities planned for all ages.

Kids will enjoy mini versions of the Highland Games, from the caber toss to miniature golf and tug-o-war.

For the lords and ladies - a scotch/whiskey tasting, Men in Kilts Contest and haggis hurling, to name a few.

Bring chairs, a blanket and a Ravinia basket, or purchase food from the on-site food truck.

Barrington Area Conservation Trust is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of its community's rare and exceptional open spaces.
