Korean Cultural Center celebrates 11th anniversary

On Sunday, June 27, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) celebrated the 11th anniversary of the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago. Thanks in part to the efforts of the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago, the Tenth District is home to one of the most vibrant and civically-active Korean-American communities.

"Against the backdrop of rising prejudice against Asian Americans in this country, it is more important than ever to honor and celebrate Korean and Asian American heritage," said Schneider.

"The tremendous success of the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago over the last 11 years exemplifies the values of community, education and civic engagement that make our country strong. I look forward to continuing our long-standing partnership to support the Tenth District's thriving Korean-American community."

Congressman Schneider announced in December 2020 that the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago received a $600,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. The grant will fund the Bisco Hall renovation at the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago, allowing Korean artists to have the support and space they need to bring their heritage to life in the United States.

The mission of the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago is to promote and organize Korean cultural, arts, educational, and social activities. Korean Cultural Center of Chicago aims to establish a venue where all Korean Americans and other groups can participate in programs and events that celebrate Korean culture and heritage.

Korean Cultural Center of Chicago strongly encourages cross-cultural understanding that can embrace and empower all people to coexist peacefully.
