Glen Ellyn's Re:new Project hosts 'Wine & Design'

Grab a group of friends for a glass of wine and private design time for the perfect outing in downtown Glen Ellyn. Sign up for a "Wine & Design" from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays, June 23 and 30, at the Re:new Project (Store+Studio), Glen Ellyn. Cost starts at $50. Sign up by the Wednesday before.

Start the event at Ko-ze in Glen Ellyn for a glass of wine with friends. Afterward, head across the street to Re:new Project for a look in the studio and design room. Work with the designers to pull out your favorite fabrics for your dream bag, and spend time learning a bit about the organization and what they do.

This event is being held to celebrate refugees and support the artisans in honor of World Refugee Day on June 20.

The ticket price includes: one glass of wine and one design session. The ticket does not include the price of the product designed.

For over 10 years, in a modish workshop off Main Street in Glen Ellyn, Re:new Project has been like the little engine that could, cranking out trendy one-of-a-kind products made solely by refugee women.

Re:new Project receives donated textiles from large corporations as well as fabric swatches from local decorators. Then, a team of refugee artisans designs each product one at a time. Check it out at www.renewproject.org.
