Learn about folklore with 'Memes, Monsters, and Macaroni Salad' June 9

The Aurora Public Library District and the Fox River Valley Public Library District in East Dundee are hosting a live online program on “Memes, Monsters, and Macaroni Salad: Exploring Folklore in Your Daily Life” with Dr. Cassandra Pfeifer from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, on Zoom.

Bernie Sanders' Mittens, Bloody Mary, and Mom's famous macaroni salad. Learn what these items have in common (hint: it's all folklore!).

In this discussion, Dr. Cassandra Pfeifer talks about the thing that ties us together and which can teach us about people with whom we might have nothing in common. Folklore gives meaning to some of the shocking, confusing, terrifying, hilarious, tragic, or troubling things we see people do, say, and make.
