Aurora's Rosary High School announces 2021 graduates

Rosary High School in Aurora held its graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021 on May 19 at St. Peter Church in Geneva. The class valedictorian is Brooklyn Capparelli of St. Charles and the Salutatorian is Isabella Pytel of Naperville.

Rosary High School Class of 2021:

• 66 graduates

• 9 Illinois State Scholars

• 1 National Merit Commended Student (Liann Peterson)

• 25 National Honor Society members

• Graduates earned $12.4 million in college scholarships

• 7,124 Hours of Community Service (over four years at Rosary)

• 100% college-bound with 93% students will be attending a 4-year school; 4% students will be attending a 2-year school; and 3% students directly entering military service

• 11 athletes have signed letters of intent to play their sport in college

• Graduates will attend 44 colleges in 17 states

Five members of the Class of 2021 were named St. Catherine of Siena Scholars, Rosary's highest academic award. They are Elyssa Brault, Brooklyn Capparelli, Anna Garrison, Isabella Pytel, and Lauren Roskuszka. Catherine of Siena scholars must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.25 and a minimum of 15 honors courses, a strong attendance record, and a strong service record, among other requirements.

Valedictorian Brooke Capparelli is the daughter of Kathy and Richard Capparelli of St. Charles. She is an Illinois State Scholar, a Catherine of Siena Scholar, a member of National Honor Society, Student Council Executive Board Secretary, a member of the Senior Retreat Team, in the Marmion Academy Leadership Program, and was named Rosary's Senior Science Student of the Year. She is a scholar athlete, playing softball and volleyball for the Royals. She played Varsity softball all four years at Rosary, and served as Varsity Captain. Brooklyn will continue her academic and softball career at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She plans to major in Psychology and minor in the Business of Sports on a Pre-Law Track.
