Dundee Library distributes free summer meals to children starting June 1

For the fifth consecutive summer, the Fox River Valley Public Library District will serve as a free summer meal location to provide free, healthy, boxed meals for children over the summer.

Boxed breakfast and lunch for children 18 and under will be distributed via curbside pickup.

The meals will be available for pick up only at the Dundee Library from noon until 1 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, from June 1 through Aug. 13.

No registration is necessary. Meals will be distributed from the library's west side entrance at 555 Barrington Ave. (Route 68) in East Dundee.

Meals are paid for by the Summer Food Service Program, a federally funded program managed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and operated by the Illinois State Board of Education in conjunction with the Northern Illinois Food Bank, who prepares and delivers the meals.

The district serves 70,000 residents of Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, Gilberts, and parts of Algonquin.
