St. Charles Unit District 303 INCubatoredu teams compete in 'Final Pitch Night'

Four student teams competed in the St. Charles Unit School District 303 INCubatoredu "Final Pitch Night" on May 18 in a virtual program.

INCubatoredu students from both high schools pitched their ideas to a panel of judges in order to qualify for the final event.

The four teams that advanced to the finals are:

• Fog Shield, East High School: Nikhil Jain and Trenton Bush

• Comfy Spine, North High School: Mauricio Vazquez, Carley Abi-Rached, and Zach Glaser

Student entrepreneurship teams presented their final business concepts before a panel of industry experts, also known as "sharks," in a competition for funding. The winners of "Final Pitch Night" are awarded funding they can use as they move into the Accelerator class next year.

At the end of the evening, the Fog Shield team from East High School was named runner-up and awarded $2,500, and the What Not Plant Shop team from East High School was named the winner and awarded $5,000.

The Sharks who volunteered their time and entrepreneur expertise are:

• Patrick McCarthy, CEO and Founder, DineroUSA Inc.;

• Jill Card, Owner of Jeans and a Cute Top Shop in downtown St. Charles;

• Robert Saxe, Founder and Managing Director, nVision Consulting Group;

• Jack Craney, St. Charles East INCubator graduate and current student at Miami of Ohio University.
