Huntley Area Public Library building to close March 15 to April 26

Phase 2 of Huntley Area Public Library's construction project is set to begin in April.

The projected closure dates will be Monday, March 15 up to Monday, April 26, 2021.

Phone lines will not be open. Emails will be monitored periodically during the closure.

During this time, no library materials will be due and no fines will accumulate.

Regular library services will not be available, but most digital and online services will still be available.

The bookdrops will be removed

The last day to pick up holds at the library will be Sunday, March 14.

Holds placed for pickup at Huntley after March 1 may not become available until after the library reopens. You may place holds for pickup at other libraries during the closure.

During the closure, the library cannot guarantee Wi-Fi capability in the parking lot. When the building reopens and Phase 2 begins in April, limited Wi-Fi access to the parking lot may be available.

After April 26, the main entrance to the library will be closed. Enter the library using the east side entrance. The new parking lot will be accessible from the Main Street entrance. The Ruth Road entrance will be closed to patrons; construction traffic only.

The library staff appreciates your patience during this time and look forward to seeing you on April 26.

On April 2, 2019, voters approved a measure to renovate and expand the Huntley Area Public Library.
