Don Inman named new director of facilities at College of DuPage

In his new role as director of facilities at College of DuPage, Don Inman will provide leadership for all design, development and construction of new and remodeled campus buildings and site development projects. In addition, he will manage capital development board projects in partnership with the Village of Glen Ellyn.

Since 2012, Inman has worked as senior project manager at the college managing many high-profile initiatives, including the Cleve Carney Museum of Art expansion, Innovation DuPage's space renovation, the Homeland Security Education Center's 9/11 memorial display and the development of Partnership Hall.

COD Interim Vice President of Administrative Affairs Ellen Roberts said Inman brings the necessary tenacity required for success in his new leadership role.

"Don is a seasoned professional," she said. "His experience, knowledge and ability to build strong working relationships make him an excellent fit for this position. He is creative and takes a collaborative approach that is needed for connecting with internal and external stakeholders."

Prior to his employment at the college, Inman's roles included Facility and Grounds Manager at the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, Director of Facilities at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and Project Site Manager for DAG Construction. He has held other significant construction project manager and project engineer positions in a variety of sectors. He has expertise in a host of both new construction and renovations along with facility operations.

"I have a natural desire to lead teams, organize, streamline, make decisions and be responsible for several critical tasks concurrently," Inman said. "I'm looking forward to continuing to improve the college's infrastructure to make COD's campus a welcoming and inviting place for students, staff, faculty and guests."
