Planning for summer events has begun, anticipating the fun of enjoying live music outdoors in the parks in warm weather.

Naperville Park District's Concerts in Your Parks series brings talented local bands to parks across the community, giving neighborhoods an opportunity to gather in a nearby park to listen to live music with friends and family.

For the 2021 season, the safety measures relative to COVID-19 that were put into place for outdoor events will continue as needed, including allowing plenty of space for social distancing.

Therefore, the traditional online voting by residents will not take place this year, to give the park district the ability to choose park locations that provide the needed space and layout for the concerts. Park district staff will work to find concert locations in different geographic regions throughout the community.

"We appreciate the enthusiasm of hundreds of residents who attend 'Concerts in Your Parks' each year," said Program Manager Brittany Malatt. "We look forward to planning another great series of concerts to enjoy this summer."

Concert locations, bands and schedules will be announced in the spring.
