Two Aurora churches to partner in Christmas Eve worship

Two Aurora churches will partner in online and in-person Christmas Eve services Thursday, Dec. 24.

Aurora Advent Christian Church and Redeemer Community Church, formerly of Oswego, will join in candlelight worship at 4:30 and 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, at the Advent Christian, 905 N. Edgelawn Drive in Aurora.

The Rev. Matt Mull, Advent senior pastor, will preach at both services. Congregants from both churches will participate in both services. Face masks and social distancing are required for in-person attendance. The online service will be available on the church's website, auroraadvent.org.

The joint Christmas Eve services continue cooperation between the churches since August. From August to October, Redeemer held services outdoors in a 40- by 100-foot tent at 4 p.m. Sundays on a back lawn at Advent. Since October, Redeemer has held worship services at 4:30 p.m. in Advent's sanctuary.

Founded in 1988, Redeemer's vision has been to see lives transformed by the power of the gospel to the glory of God. The church focuses on Christ-centered worship, drawing near to God in prayer and praise.

Redeemer leaders include Josh Fenska, preaching pastor; Josh Anderson, discipleship pastor; and Tim Tatum and Mike Wiersema, pastors.
