Holiday displays offer fun, no-crowd photo ops in downtown Aurora

Aurora Downtown welcomes shoppers and visitors to stop by a few spots for holiday photos in downtown Aurora this season with social-distancing in mind.

The gazebo at Millennium and the star at Mundy Park will be staged for free, holiday photos on Saturdays, Nov. 28 and Dec. 5, from noon to 3 p.m.

The Millennium Plaza gazebo on Stolp Avenue between Downer Place and Galena Boulevard will be fitted with a professional holiday photo background courtesy of Payton's Photography.

Stop by and take a photo, or, weather permitting, owner CeCee Nedrow will be socially-distanced and masked for requests to snap a photo to download for free.

The star at Mundy Park will be a great spot all season long for families to stop and take photos, but a professional photographer will be on hand to take photos on the dates above.

Aurora Regional Fire Museum, 53 N. Broadway, will be an unattended selfie site flanked with fresh garland above the historic, half-domed windows facing Broadway.

Several locations will offer scenic backgrounds with Aurora Express, a downtown-wide holiday window theme featuring trains and other modes of transportation from yesteryear to today, in full effect throughout the season.

Visitors are encouraged to wear masks and social-distance. Check out www.facebook.com/auroradowntown/ for any updates.
