Tommy Emmanuel joins Muriel Anderson for annual concert Nov. 28
Guitarist/harp-guitarist Muriel Anderson, a hometown favorite, will host her 29th annual concert on Saturday, Nov. 28. She will be joined on the livestream concert by a special guest, guitarist Tommy Emmanuel.
They will be appearing remotely from Nashville at 8 p.m. The concert is hosted by First Congregational United Church of Christ in Downers Grove.
Enjoy an evening of acoustic music, audience interaction, and celebration. You can participate in the show from your home while you enjoy some homemade fudge, and still have a chance to win a new Washburn guitar donated by Tobias Music, mailed to your home.
As always, a portion of proceeds will go to the Music for Life Alliance to support music education.
An engaging performer, Anderson's unique approach to the instrument virtually transforms the guitar into a lyrical choir, then a marching band, then a Bluegrass band, one minute launching into a Beatles' tune and the next, a Spanish classic. She is host of the renowned Muriel Anderson's All Star Guitar Night and founder of the Music for Life Alliance charity. Anderson is the first woman to win the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship.
Sample her new release "Acoustic Chef," an international cookbook with music for each recipe.
Grammy-nominated Tommy Emmanuel comes to the guitar like a vocalist, singing melodies through the strings, delivering every nuance and turn of phrase. His music, coming from a genuine and joyful source, is an experience not to miss.
The $25 "Full Experience" ticket includes a half- pound of fudge, or $17 (without fudge). Get a season pass that will give you a Full Experience ticket to this show and many others. For tickets, visit murielanderson.com/dg/.
