Mundelein Halloween Decorating Contest winners announced

Submitted by the village of Mundelein

The winners of Mundelein's inaugural Halloween Decorating Contest have been announced. The village thanks all the Mundelein residents who participated in the contest by nominating their homes for consideration, and all the residents who placed their votes.

Twenty-seven homes were submitted and more than 1,000 votes cast.

Residents can start thinking about new ideas for next year, as the Mundelein Community Connection, in partnership with the village of Mundelein, plans to host this contest again for Halloween 2021.

The winners were:

• The Uhl Family for Best Fall Display

• The Schroetter Family for Scariest Display

• The The Gustafson Family for Most Creative Display

The three contest winners received a collection of Mundelein spirit items, a $50 "Shop Local" gift card, and community recognition for their creativity.

Mayor Steve Lentz, the board of trustees, and Mundelein Community Connection congratulate the winners.
