Flinn Scientific donates hand sanitizers to Central Unit District 301

Central Unit District 301 in Burlington recently received a donation of 500 bottles of hand sanitizer from Flinn Scientific in Batavia.

"When the crisis first hit, it was next to impossible to find masks, gloves, or sanitizer," said Dr. Todd Stirn, District 301 superintendent of schools. "We now are properly stocked with these supplies. Flinn Scientific's generosity did not go unnoticed by our staff."

In 1977, Lawrence Flinn Jr. proposed an idea to his family - a risky idea that could jeopardize their security and his career. After working for two large laboratory supply companies, and being stonewalled in his attempts to convince them to provide better service and products for teachers, Lawrence's passion for science education led him to quit his executive job and start a new company.

Flinn Scientific began in the basement of the family home in Batavia, with Flinn, his wife and two sons.

This family-owned business provides safely packaged chemicals, free safety training and special safety products.
