Batavia United Way welcomes new executive director

The Batavia United Way board of directors recently announced that Bonnie Baumgartner has been named the new executive director.

Previous executive director Melinda Kintz will continue with Batavia United Way through the end of the year, working on the fall fundraising campaign and holiday season.

The Batavia resident brings with her a passion for her community, experience as a Suicide Prevention Services board member, and an array of other experiences.

Kintz will continue to represent Batavia United Way's responsibility to Kane County 211 on a volunteer basis. She is working with the fellow Kane County United Way locations to bring 211 to the next level.

As the Batavia United Way looks forward to the future, they gratefully reflect on Kintz's contribution to its mission. She has been a cornerstone of this 92-year institution in Batavia over the past six years and has helped to reinvent and revitalize this organization. Her creativity and collaboration with other local agencies and business has made this community a better place.

In Kintz's words, "I am very humbled and grateful to have met the leaders of, and studied the works of, the many nonprofit organizations Batavia United Way supports. I am in awe of each of them, experts in their field and compassionate to the core."

Kintz has been instrumental in various programs including the Adopt-A-Family program throughout the holiday season and bringing 211 to Kane County.
