Candy Corn Beer Returns to Buffalo Creek Brewing for Halloween Season

Lake County destination brewery Buffalo Creek Brewing is reprising a scary popular original recipe in light of the Halloween season. Brewmaster Mike Marr's Candy Corn Ale is made with real candy corns and combines a silky cream ale with accents of familiar marshmallow, vanilla, and buttery caramel-like flavors to produce a hauntingly delicious beer. This special small batch release, which sells for $7 per pint beginning October 23rd in the taproom only, made its debut at Buffalo Creek Brewing in 2019 and is returning due to popular demand.

"Every Halloween there's one big dilemma: Do you eat it or throw it away," says Mike of America's most divisive candy. "We have a third option: Make beer out of it! Despite all the debate about America's most polarizing treat, our Candy Corn Ale is a hit."

What started somewhat as a joke last year has turned into one of Buffalo Creek Brewing's most highly anticipated monthly small batch beers - limited quantity quirky recipes that typically play off the season such as Pumpkin Pie Ale in November or Watermelon Wheat in August. This year, Candy Corn Ale will drop the same day the historic downtown Long Grove business district hosts its Trick-or-Treating and Tricks & Tales (spooky skits hosted by the Historical Society) events so the drive is extra worth it.

About Buffalo Creek Brewing:

Buffalo Creek Brewing is Lake County's only destination brewery located in the heart of downtown Long Grove (about 30 miles NW of Chicago). What makes the brewery a destination? It's not in a warehouse or an old rundown building, but instead settled in a transformed art studio in the middle of a historic village. The state-of-the-art brewing facility features Bavarian-style beer and themed taproom, biergarten patio, private event room, brew masters lounge and scenic lawns spacious enough for gaming and social distancing.
