A socially distanced Fall Fest Express comes to Lombard Oct. 17

Just because we can't gather this year for Fall Fest doesn't mean we can't have some fall fun!

This year, the Lombard Park District is putting Fall Fest in a bag for families to enjoy.

Stop by Lombard Fall Fest Express between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at The Commons, 433 E. St. Charles Road. However keep in mind, supplies are limited to the first 500 children.

The Lombard Park District is asking families to bring a food/money donation for the Lombard/Villa Park Food Pantry. Most needed items include rice, pasta, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, and pancake mix and syrup.

Families who donate will drive through the Lombard Common parking lot to receive their Fall Fest in a bag filled with games, prizes, candy and giveaways from the Fall Fest sponsors, Rocket Plumbing/Roots Be Gone, Dave Steinbach State Farm Agency and Grove Dental.

The next stop on the Fall Fest Express is an opportunity to take the perfect fall family photo at the fall-themed photo station.

The last stop is our pumpkin patch; each child in the vehicle will receive a pumpkin!

"We can't wait to finally host a safe and fun event for our community! Make sure you stop by early to get your Fall Fest in a bag," said Katie Manheim, Lombard Park District Program Manager.

Lombard Park District requests that families please wear face coverings while interacting with staff and follow social distancing guidelines.

On Thursday, Oct. 22, get ready for Halloween with the "Monster Bash" from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center, 820 S. Finley Road.

Kids, infant to age 6 play spooky games, enjoy some ghoulish treats. Make sure you wear your costume!

"Monster Bash" is $5 per person for residents and $6 per person for nonresidents. Register at lombardparks.com/project/monster-bash/.
