Elgin American Legion Post 57 hosts Friday Fish Frys
Elgin American Legion Post 57, 820 N. Liberty St., is hosting a weekly Friday Night Fish Fry.
They are now serving your choice of baked potatoes, mac and cheese, or french fries with the fish dinner meals from 4 to 7 p.m. Lightning starts at 6 p.m.
Post 57 also has Sunday Bingo from 1:30 to 4 p.m. with Bingo ticket sales start at 12:30 p.m.
Join the post home's spaghetti dinners from 5 to 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.
The Queen of Hearts drawings start at 8 p.m. Mondays. On Oct. 5, there are 14 cards left. Tickets are available at the canteen during regular business hours and will be sold up to 15 minutes before the drawing. Net ticket sales will be added to the remaining jackpot for the next week's drawing. Tickets are six for $5 (sold in $5 lots only). Participants can purchase as many tickets as they want. Tickets need to be purchased (cash only) in person at the Post 57 canteen. You must be at least 18 years old to play and do not have to be present to win. This program is open to the public.
Sandwiches are available for sale at lunch time. Video gaming is available seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
