West Dundee church hosts free Hilltop Supper Aug. 11

First Congregational Church of Dundee is continuing the Hilltop Community Suppers, an outreach effort that offers a free meal on the second Tuesday of the month.

The suppers are open to any community member who would enjoy a warm, home-cooked meal.

The next free supper will be another "drive-through" and "to-go" meal offered from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, from the parking lot driveway of the church or while meals last.

There will be no dining in the church building.

The church plans to serve 400 dinners.

The supper will be run entirely by volunteers with food handler permits working on the meal; everything is sanitized and, before workers enter the church, their temperatures are taken and they are masked and supplied gloves - no more than six volunteers will be allowed in the church at one time.

Social distancing practices will be observed.

Dinners are offered at no cost, but freewill donations are gladly accepted to help sustain the meals and any additional contributions are accepted at any time.
