Youth Baseball Volunteer Receives Park Award

The Grayslake Community Park District presented Jeff Woods with the 2020 Friends of the Park Award at a recent Grayslake Youth Baseball Association game in Grayslake's Central Park.

"It is an honor to recognize Jeff Woods for his outstanding dedication to and support of parks and recreation in Grayslake," said Park Board President Ken Ryan. "Over the years, Jeff has dedicated countless hours to coaching and serving the youth in our community through the Grayslake Youth Baseball Association."

During his long tenure with the Grayslake Youth Baseball Association, Jeff has worked side-by-side with the Grayslake Park District on several capital projects to improve baseball fields and facilities. In addition to baseball field improvements, Jeff has worked to improve the overall youth baseball program and experience for players and families.

Grayslake Youth Baseball Association (GYBA) is a community-focused organization with a guiding principle of supporting the development of youth; both on and off the field. GYBA's core values are sportsmanship, teamwork, inclusivity, community and diversity, as it strives to be an organization that prioritizes player experience and development over all other outcomes.

"Through all of his hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment, Jeff continues to have a positive impact in the Grayslake community," added Ryan.
