Help Signal Hill, NSDAR Honor Veterans in December 2020

This year, National Wreaths Across America Day will be sponsored and coordinated at Evergreen Cemetery, 600 Dundee Ave., in Barrington by the Signal Hill Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolutions (NSDAR). A short memorial service and wreath placement will take place at noon, December 19, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery, where nearly 500 veterans are buried. State and local health advisements will be followed for attendees' safety.

Wreaths Across America's mission is simple: Remember the fallen, Honor those that serve, and Teach the next generation about the value of freedom. Beginning with a shipment of 5,000 wreaths from Maine to Arlington National Cemetery in 1992, last December Wreaths Across American and its national network of volunteers placed over 2.2 million veteran's wreaths at more than 2,150 locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad.

If you would like to donate to this mission of honoring veterans interred at Evergreen Cemetery, you may do so directly at the website for Evergreen's link on Wreaths Across America at https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/159677/Overview/?relatedId=0 Each live wreath costs $15 to sponsor and is made in the United States with Maine balsam. Wreaths should be purchased before November 30, 2020.

The Signal Hill Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, raises funds throughout the year and distributes to 501 (c) (3) organizations, whose missions support DAR's mission of education, historic preservation, patriotism, conservation, and Native American issues. The Barrington chapter was founded in 1972, and is dedicated to preserving history, promoting patriotism, conservation and historic awareness in our community, and securing America's future through better education for children. Membership is established through approval of documentation of direct lineage from an American Revolutionary War Patriot.
