Stop by for 'Midday Spray' and other free events on Naperville's Rotary Hill
Midday Spray, the Naperville Park District's sprinkler event for kids at Rotary Hill, will continue through August.
Launched on July 9, this new weekday event gives kids a fun way to cool off in a refreshing spray.
The sprinkler runs at Rotary Hill, 443 Aurora Ave., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to Friday, weather and turf conditions permitting.
Families are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and sit under the trees.
Thanks to sponsors, this event is free. The week of July 27 is presented by Dr. Chahla, orthopaedic surgeon at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, and the month of August is presented by Eagan and Company, Certified Public Accountants.
Weekly recitals at the Naperville Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower continue through August.
The Summer Pops Recital Series features Naperville City Carillonneur Tim Sleep at 7 p.m. Saturdays. Additionally, local carillonneurs give concerts each Saturday at noon and Sunday at 4 p.m. Lawn seating is available on Rotary Hill, and the music can be heard while walking nearby on the Riverwalk.
Rotary Hill will host two of the movies in the park district's outdoor movie series, "A Night at the Movies." "Frozen II" is set for Friday, July 31 at 8:30 p.m. and "Wonder" will be shown on Friday, Aug. 21, at 8 p.m. The last movie of the season, "Captain Marvel," will move to the 95th Street Community Plaza, located at 3109 Cedar Glade Drive, on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
