Cortney Wascher Elected to DHI Board of Governors Leadership Role

Anderson Lock Company is pleased to announce that Cortney Anderson Wascher, president, has been elected second vice president of DHI's (Door & Hardware Institute) Board of Governors for the 2020-2021 term.

DHI serves door security and safety professionals in the non-residential construction industry. Through education, advocacy, accreditation and facilitated networking, the association helps members meet the security and safety needs of their customers. The Board of Governors provide leadership for individuals from across the country who are actively engaged in the door and hardware industry, as well as for corporate members who represent companies that manufacture doors and door hardware.

After graduating with an Honors Economics degree from Vanderbilt University in 1995, Cortney completed an internship with Von Duprin in Indianapolis, then worked as a manufacturer's representative in the Pittsburgh region. Later, she returned to Illinois and joined Anderson Lock, the locksmith business her father founded. She was named president in 2006, and became majority owner in 2009. Soon after, Anderson Lock received national certification as a Women's Business Enterprise. It provides security solutions for commercial, industrial and institutional facilities throughout Chicagoland.

Cortney leads 100+ employees, at two locations. She also serves on the State of Illinois Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor and Locksmith Board of IDFPR (Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation), and other national advisory boards.

In 2017, she was named a winner of the DHI Award of Merit. The next year, Anderson Lock received BHMA's (Builder's Hardware Manufacturers' Association) "Award of Excellence" for promoting the finest brands in the commercial door industry, noting the company's commitment to "selling the highest quality product solution" while also being a resource for expert technical advice.

Anderson Lock, opened as a one-man locksmith in 1960, is now Chicagoland's premier commercial lock service provider. Additionally, the company's Door Division supplies architectural doors, frames and hardware for large scale spaces like new hospital bed towers, schools and offices, as well as for smaller projects.

Cortney's husband, Devin Wascher, AHC, FDAI, is Anderson Lock's Vice President and Door Division Manager. Her children, Will and Cathryn, are active in school and sports.
