Trapshooting now open at Sportsman's Park

Trapshooting at Naperville Park District's Sportsman's Park opened June 18, in compliance with Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois Plan.

Trapshooting is available on Thursdays from 6 to 10 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Participation guidelines for the trapshooting program can be found at www.napervilleparks.org/coronavirus.

All participants are required to make a reservation to shoot at the facility and pay in advance; drop-in use is not permitted at this time.

Reservations can be made by contacting the Naperville Park District registration office at (630) 848-5000, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Individuals who do not have a park district account will need to establish one when calling in to make a reservation; an account also may be set up in advance online at apm.activecommunities.com/napervilleparks.

Reservations for Thursday and Sunday shooting sessions may be made only for the current week.

Reservations for Thursdays must be made by noon on Thursday; Sunday reservations must be made by 5 p.m. on Friday.

The park district is working to implement a reservation software app that will replace phone-in reservations in the future. This will provide participants with greater flexibility to make their reservation.

Trapshooting is open to the public, but participants must present a valid FOID card when checking in at the range. All rounds will include the purchase of shells and targets; no outside ammunition is permitted at this time.

Information regarding the trapshooting program and the Sportsman's Park facility can be found at www.napervilleparks.org/facilities/sportsmanspark.
