Bicycle/pedestrian connections to Busse Woods open

State Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, attended the ribbon cutting of the completed bicycle/pedestrian connections to Busse Woods, for which he was instrumental in securing funding.

"The funding for this project has provided new access points to the Cook County Forest Preserve that improve safety, provide accessibility to forest preserves, reduce pollution and traffic, all while benefiting members of the region for years to come," Moylan said.

"Busse Woods is such a beautiful forest preserve and something our community should be very proud of. I am delighted that these new connections will help even more visitors enjoy Busse Woods."

The two new connections along Arlington Heights Road provide safe crossings at Oakton Street and Northwest Point Boulevard. Moylan collaborated with Elk Grove Village and Cook County to secure a $425,000 grant from the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to fund the design and construction of these new connections.

For information about the new bicycle/pedestrian connections, contact Moylan's full-time constituent office at (847) 635-6821 or email StateRepMoylan@gmail.com.
