Hanover Township hosts virtual Open Gym

Hanover Township Youth & Family Services has launched a virtual Open Gym for youth.

This free program will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday in May on the video communications website Zoom.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has hit all segments of the population hard, including school-aged youth who are looking for activities to participate in with their friends and other kids," said Brian McGuire, township supervisor.

"As one of the township's signature programs, staff has adapted to ensure Open Gym is offered, even during this unprecedented time."

The biweekly program will include exercises, games, crafts and social check-ins. Craft activities will include common items found in the home.

Login information, as well as a program calendar and list of supplies needed, will be posted on the department's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/HTYFS every Sunday.

For information, contact Hanover Township Youth and Family Services at (630) 542-4493.
