Lakeshore Recycling reduces collection programs due to coronavirus

Lakeshore Recycling Systems has officially suspended the collection of bulk and white goods as well as its curbside electronics recycling program in Geneva until further notice due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The city's waste hauler will not pick up these items - even if a refuse sticker is attached - set out with garbage. Bulk items are objects that are too large to fit into a garbage cart or can, such as a mattress or furniture; white goods are appliances.

Lakeshore's garbage, recycling and yard waste programs will continue to be picked up as normal for now. However, given the rapidly changing nature of this pandemic, the public is encouraged to check the city's website, www.geneva.il.us, frequently for the latest updates on the city's coronavirus response Web page.

Brush collection

Kramer Tree Specialists, the city's brush collection vendor, still plans to conduct its monthly pickups as normal beginning in April. Program regulations, a schedule and more details are available on the city's website at www.geneva.il.us.
