Schaumburg Library cancels program through March 31

Schaumburg Township District Library is canceling all library programs through March 31, and taking additional actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

After much thoughtful consideration of the guidance and guidelines provided by the CDC and Illinois Department of Health, Schaumburg Library is taking the following preventive actions to do its part to help minimize the spread of COVID-19:

• All library programs are canceled through March 31.

• All Meeting Room reservations are canceled through March 31.

• All Outreach Services, including home deliveries and visits to senior living facilities, are canceled through March 31.

• Until further notice, all library locations will remain open for regularly scheduled hours of service.

These changes to library services are a precautionary measure and are not due to any known exposure to COVID-19 at the library.

Additionally, until further notice, the library will continue its increased cleaning regimen and removal of many toys from public areas.

All patrons are being notified of these changes to services, including those registered for affected programs.

The Schaumburg Library encourages members of the Schaumburg Township community to do their part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. If you're not feeling well, please stay home and seek medical attention as appropriate. Practice good hygiene and hand washing. These healthy habits really do make a difference when it comes to preventing the spread of illness.

The Schaumburg Library will continue to monitor the recommendations of public health officials. If additional changes to its services are necessary in the coming days, the library will promptly update its patrons and the community.
