Cosmetologists Chicago - Not for Profit - Presents America's Beauty Show 2020

According to IDFPR (Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations), there are over 88,000 licensed salon professionals in Illinois providing beauty services to millions of residents.

This year April 18, 19, 20, non-profit Cosmetologists Chicago (the largest association of salon professionals in the Midwest) will present its premier annual event America's Beauty Show at McCormick Place. The popular event - which makes an impressive positive impact on our local economy - is expected to draw over 70,000 attendees during its three-day run.

Palatine business owner Lorrene Conino, owner of Palatine's Salon Lorrene and Secretary of Cosmetologists Chicago (NFP), comments, "Millions of women and men put their heads in our hands every day - they depend on us for their appearance. We salon professionals work with chemicals and cutting instruments; we want our clients to rest assured that we appreciate our responsibility. Ours is an industry that makes people happy … it's glamorous! It's important that all know what we are doing, that our training is up to date, and that our education comes from the most respected professional educators in the country who come in for our Show. As with other trade shows such as the Housewares Show, we need to let consumers know of new trends in our industry, of things that they will see in their neighborhood salons in coming days. Also, the salon industry GIVES back! At America's Beauty Show, we offer Chicago Says No More, a free, one-hour domestic violence and sexual assault awareness course for salon professionals. Cosmetologists Chicago - partnering with the not-for-profit Chicago Says No More - is the first association of salon professionals in the country to offer this course. And the signature philanthropic event at America's Beauty Show - Beauty Changes Lives - is open to the public and continues to raise funds that provide scholarships for the underserved to study for a career in the salon industry."

So, what is America's Beauty Show? Simply put, it's hundreds of thousands of square feet of wall-to-wall beauty products, where salon professionals come to learn new trends - what's hot and what's not … and be educated by the best educators across the country. Over 300 exhibitors will showcase their new beauty products! What salon professionals learn is what consumers can expect to see at their local beauty salons in coming weeks!

Whether one wants hair that is long, short, straight, curly, or colored in one of the hot new pastel colors, top salon experts will learn how to hook you up. Attendees will discover the latest innovations in hair dryers, flat irons, curlers, hair treatments, hair extensions, hair colors, nail trends, and skincare treatments … and of course new products featuring CBD! Onstage there will be ongoing theaters showcasing beauty trends from national and international Beauty Stars and celebrity hairdressers; there will be educational presentations from top manufacturers including Moroccanoil, Sexy Hair, Redken, Farouk, Pulp Riot Hair, Amika, Hempbeauty, Brazilian Professionals, as well as global beauty companies from Austria, China, Australia, Canada, Spain, and the United Kingdom - to name a few. Other highlights of ABS 2020 include:
