'Lions Night' Jan. 28 to benefit Sugar Grove food pantry

Waubonsee Community College Lions Club will sponsor "Lions Night," a food and fundraiser, at the college's Chiefs' basketball games Tuesday, Jan. 28.

The event will benefit Sugar Grove Between Friends food pantry. WCC hosts Elgin Community College for a women's game at 5:15 p.m. and a men's game at 7:15 p.m. Jan. 28 in Erickson Gymnasium at the Sugar Grove campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive.

Attendees who bring a nonperishable food donation will be admitted free to the games. WCC Lions will collect donations for the pantry between games.

With about 25 members, WCC Lions Club was formed by students and employees in 2016. Co-sponsors were Geneva Lions Club, Elburn Lions Club and Aurora Noon Lions Club.
