Ultimate Gymnastics athletes shine at St. Jude Benefit Meet

Half way through their competitive season, and competing in their first meet of the new year, the Junior Olympic athletes from Ultimate Gymnastics of Gurnee were ready to shine at the recent St. Jude Benefit meet in Rosemont.

The Level 3s showed a strong performance, earning them a second-place team performance. Notable performances by Tristelle Gozun, Elodie Nichols, Gwennie Cole and Ralynn Golden earned a spot on the All-Around podium.

Level 4

The Level 4 athletes had a fantastic showing, earning many medals. At Level 4, Allison Beau stood out placing first on uneven bars and second on vault.

Level 5

The girls from Level 5 showed up and delivered. Leah Arceo earned third place on vault, while Karina Gamalski also earned third on uneven bars. Malayna Rios stood on the podium capturing a second place on vault and a third-place score on the floor exercise and in the All-Around category.

• Abby Leverenz: Beam (4th)

Junior B

• Leah Arceo: Vault (3rd); Beam (5th); Floor (4th); All-Around (5th)

Junior C

• Karina Gamalski: Bars (3rd); Beam (8th); All-Around (8th)

• Malayna Rios: Vault (2nd); Beam (4th); Floor (3rd); All-Around (3rd)

Level 6

The athletes from Level 6 showed a powerful performance all around, sending them on many trips to the podium. They also earned a third- place team finish.

Layla Kadera, Camryn Clark and Allie Mietus swept the podium in their age group, earning first-, second- and third-place standings in the All-Around. Hailey Hamann earned a second-place All-Around finish with a first-place finish on the uneven bars and third place on the floor exercise.

Ava Pasquesi captured first on the floor exercise, while Orli Sweet took third on the balance beam. Olivia Stolzer also took first on beam in her age division.

• Camryn Clark: Vault (4th); Bars (4th); Beam (2nd); Floor (2nd); All-Around (2nd)

Senior B

Level 7

The Ultimate Level 7 girls' strong performance earned them a second-place team finish. Ava Fendel dominated in beam and floor and earned herself a second place All-Around finish. Lyla Drowne earned second place on uneven bars, while Gaby Carvajal earned third place on vault.

In the senior division, Evy Hagerty earned first on vault, second on uneven bars, and third in the All-Around division. Kenzie Liebau earned third place on vault and first on floor, while Josie Gates earned a second-place finish on the balance beam.

Junior A

• Lyla Drowne: Bars (2nd); Beam (6th); Floor (6th); All-Around (4th)

• Ava Fendel: Vault (5th); Bars (7th); Beam (1st); Floor (1st); All-Around (2nd)

Level 8

At Level 8, many medals were earned through incredible performances. Most notable, McKenna Cox was crowned the floor champion in her age division.

• McKenna Cox: Vault (4th); Floor (1st); All-Around (8th)

Level 9

At Level 9, Peri Arken turned in an outstanding performance, placing her on the podium several times. Her placings are as follows: Vault (5th); Bars (3rd); Beam (3rd); Floor (4th); All-Around (3rd).
