Shop with a Cop

On Saturday, December 7th, the Zion Police Department held "Shop With a Cop" at the Zion Walmart. Eighteen police officers (elves) assisted 27 District 6 elementary students in picking out holiday gifts. Each student received $25 to spend for each person in their family!

District 6 would like to give a huge thank you to Walmart for their generous donation of $2,500, which helped to provide this opportunity to our students and their families. Additionally, thank you to the volunteers from Healthy YOUth Groups, Zion Benton Township High School and New Tech, The Zion Police Chaplains, NICASA's Teen Court, the members of the Zion Police Department Community Advisory Committee, and Jay Wiltshire, our District 6 School Community Liason. Together, we helped to wrap over 150 gifts for families to open this holiday season.
