Expeditions at East Elementary

Students at East Elementary in Zion have been embarking on some amazing expeditions with the help of Google. PreK Dual Language scholars explored giants of the natural world! Kindergarteners traveled to the chilling center of the polar region, experienced the scorching heat of the Sahara desert, and then took a dive into the deep blue sea. Lastly, first graders have been studying what it is like to go to school in different countries, and were able to visit these places with Google Expedition and Virtual Reality Goggles. These expeditions no longer limit teachers to the space of the classroom, and allow them to bring abstract concepts to life. By helping students visualize information in a new way, these experiences positively impact their ability to retain information.
