Sleigh Bells Ring Extravaganza returns Dec. 7

The Central High School Music Department invites everyone to the second annual Sleigh Bells Ring Concert Extravaganza from 1 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Central High School, 44W625 Plato Road, Burlington.

This event began last year as Lexi Rath's Girl Scout Gold Award project, the highest honor a Girl Scout can earn.

Over 800 people attended last year and even more are expected this year. As Jim Struyk, director of instrumental music, explains, "The Sleigh Bells Ring concert is an amazing opportunity for our music program to showcase our students. The event includes every vocal and instrumental performing ensemble at Central High School plus small student lead groups. I am really proud of the work we have put into this event and the focus on the community. We want it to be a day full of music and fun for the entire community."

Come and purchase last minute goodies at the vendor/craft fair. Kids of all ages will be able to make instruments out of recycled materials in the craft corner or tryout an instrument at the "petting zoo" provided by Music And Arts. The entire family will enjoy free horse-drawn sleigh rides. Food will be available for purchase from Café Roma.

Be sure to attend the "All Community Sing" from 4:30 to 5 p.m. with traditional holiday songs! Come out and support the Central High School music students while enjoying the festivities of the holiday season. This a free event.
