Elgin Kiwanis selling poinsettias for coats

The Elgin Kiwanis Club is selling holiday poinsettias to raise funds for The Salvation Army's "Coat Closet" program.

The Coat Closet provides winter coats to needy students with recommendations from Elgin Area School District U-46 administrators. The Closet is administered by The Salvation Army Elgin Corps.

You can still order your poinsettias to support this holiday cause by visiting elgin.kiwanisone.org.

Prices range from $15 to $25. There are three different dates available so you can pick them up on the day that works for you; indicate which day you choose. These make great gifts for employees, family and clients!

The Elgin Kiwanis Club meets at noon Tuesdays at The Grumpy Goat Tavern, 875 Sports Way, Elgin, at the Highlands golf course.

On Dec. 3, join them for lunch and an interesting presentation on "Juvenile Justice Jeopardy." On Dec. 10, there will be a presentation on the 2020 Census. On Dec. 17, the speaker will be Tony Lucenko from the Elgin Development Group. There will be no meeting Dec. 24.

For details on the club meetings, call Karen Maki at (847) 695-7589 or visit elgin.kiwanisone.org.
