100 years Young!--Helen I. Drobnick

(1) Here's a salute to yet another centenarian nurtured by Waukegan, IL! Helen Drobnick (née Kadluboski) arrived from "YUPI" (Iron River, MI) in 1943. She celebrated one hundred (100) years young, November 09, 2019.

(2) Her parents, Polish immigrants, provided a dairy farm for the family, where Helen was raised. Getting to school meant a seven mile walk, if motor transportation was unavailable. Helen is the fourth of ten siblings.

(3) Back in the day, she promptly made a forty-year career at Illinois Bell as manager, and married attorney Mark J. Drobnick in 1948. At home in her current residence hubby built for her, she resides the last fifty years.

(4) Her son, Mark H., is a medical and law school alumnus, who campaigned for city clerk. She also has a daughter-in-law, Loida, and three grandchildren: the first three, Mamá, "Owl" (Mark L.), & Joshua Daniel from Puerto Rico, the last, Linda, from Illinois.

(5) Owl and Josh are film makers. They publish an original, creative YouTube channel, "The Brotherhood of Parkour" (red/black icon).

(6) Helen remains happy, alert, and looking to a bright future. She enjoys "Wheel of Fortune", playing cards, reading Globe magazine, gardening, and shopping, among various activities.

(7) Still serviceably agile, she has, however, cut back on her break dancing routines! Sharing some of her longevity secrets, she confides: avoid bad habits, be active, follow doctor's advice, get adequate rest, and go for your polio vaccine. Do things that bring you joy.

(8) At today's probability of one in every four thousand U.S. citizens, Helen has indeed attained a milestone. Her earned status as vibrant centenarian is a remarkable achievement!

(9) Helen Drobnick has surpassed first-in-her-class standing by what she has accomplished in good health and long life. She inspires us all.
