New Organ Dedication Recital

Saint Matthew Lutheran Church in Hawthorn Woods is pleased to present in it's continued Organ Dedication recital series, Principal Organist/Music Associate, Mr. Michael Gagne in an Organ Dedication Recital on Sunday, October 27th at 3pm in the main sanctuary on the church's newly installed 3 manual, 5 division, Rodgers Infinity 361 digital organ.

Mr. Gagne has been the Principal Organist of Saint Matthew Lutheran Church since December 2014, and Sunday School Music Teacher since 2016.

This is the third recital in the Saint Matthew Organ Dedication Recital Series.

Michael Gagne has been serving in churches as either Organist/Director of Music since 2004 in addition to giving organ recitals.

Mr. Gagne has studied the organ with Dr. Marilyn Kay Stulken, Dr, Marcia van Oyen, Dr. David Christiansen, and Mr. Leon Nelson and has performed locally.

He has performed in organ master classes with noted organists such as Diane Bish, Dr. Kenneth Cowan, Dr. John Weaver, Dr. Gerre Hancock, and Samuel Metzger.

There will also be audience participation within the recital as the theme will revolve around the 502nd anniversary of the Reformation including the singing of famous hymnn "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God" authored by Martin Luther.

Mr. Gagne will be performing organ works by Felix Mendelssohn, David German, Louis Vierne, and other great composers for the King of Instruments.

Admission is free and this concert is open to the community.

A Reception will follow immediately after the concert.
