Happy haunting at Halloween Hustle 5K and Kids Dash

Trick-or-treat yourself to the annual Halloween Hustle 5K and Kids Dash Saturday, Oct. 26, presented by Adrenaline Special Events.

This run/walk will wind through Palatine's historic downtown neighborhood. The Kids Dash begins at 8:40 a.m. and the 5K kicks off at 9 a.m. Spirits will be high as Halloween Hustlers dress up in their costumes for a chance to win the costume contest at the after party. Mummies and daddies with strollers are also invited to get in on the fun.

"We're celebrating our 14th Halloween Hustle Palatine this year, and it's fang-tastic to be building on that," said Aaron Del Mar, Adrenaline Special Events founder. "This event appeals to everyone, from the avid runner all the way down to the novice, and there's fun to be had by all."

Proceeds from the Halloween Hustle will benefit Fathers Helping Fathers, a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting fathers in the areas of parenting skills and helping them build solid relationships with their children.

All 5K participants will receive a Halloween Hustle long-sleeve Dri-Fit shirt and a 5K finisher medal.

All Kid Dashers will get a youth T-shirt, race bib, trick-or-treat bag and a pumpkin upon finishing with registration. A spooktacular after-party will take place at Tap House Grill, 56 W. Wilson St., in downtown Palatine immediately following the race.

Volunteers are needed to distribute packets, hand out snacks, and check gear during the event. Each will receive a Halloween Hustle staff shirt, food and beverages.

Sponsorships are still available and are tax deductible. Event sponsors include Chicago Casino and Poker Rentals, Tap House Grill, Boxed Water, CD One Price Cleaners, Road Runner Sports, RXBAR, Country Financial, Lifeway, Reign Total Body Fuel, GetAround, Joyböl, Clif Bar & Company and Advanced Bariatrics.
