Honey-roasted flavor at this year's St. Charles Kiwanis Peanut Days

September is Kiwanis Peanut Month. Peanuts have been a Kiwanis tradition for 68 years, but this year there's something a little different.

The Kiwanis Club of St. Charles will now be offering honey roasted peanuts in place of the plain, salted variety.

Donations for a box of 100 packets of peanuts are still $45. Boxes of peanuts also can be donated to troops overseas.

As usual, Kiwanians will be on hand at various locations across town for "street donations" from Thursday, Sept. 19 through Saturday, Sept. 21.

All proceeds are used to support over 30 local organizations that help area children and families in need. Donations can be made through a Kiwanian you know or online at kiwanisofstcharles.org.

The club meets for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays at Baker Memorial United Memorial Church, 307 Cedar Ave. on St. Charles' east side.
