Learn about boosting sales with technology at Sept. 10 chamber program

"Does Your Elevator Speech Matter?" will be discussed from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce, 43 W. Galena Blvd. in Aurora. The public is invited.

Shawn Green, Aurora University marketing professor, will facilitate. The program is part of a professional sales development series sponsored by the chamber.

Admission is $15 and includes a light breakfast. Space is limited.

The presenter is Randy Meier, vice president of sales at Synergy Systems Inc. in Aurora. Synergy is a 40-year-old systems Integrator focused on industrial combustion processes.

Meier will explore how sales performers use solid sales processes, current application of technology and quality content. He said, "Salespeople are making more use of tech-based tools such as the internet, mobile phones and social media. The question is to what degree do we actually use these tools to work through our sales process? Are we leveraging readily available technology as much as we are able?"

He will lead a discussion of how a rapidly changing business environment is impacting the sales profession and how they can capitalize on changes.

Topics he will address are:

• Better using common tech-tools to sell more effectively.

• Applying technology more directly into the sales process.

• Determining how sales enablement can improve results.

• Providing salespeople with the resources that buyers request.

• Having useful content for salespeople that can be shared to buyers.

Meier has 15 years of sales experience including inside sales, territory development, key account management, business development management and sales management. He holds a bachelor's degree in business management and an MBA from Aurora University.
