Fox Fitness plans grand reopening in Aurora

Fox Valley Park District is inviting residents to the unveiling of its renovated Fox Fitness experience at Eola Community Center.

The grand reopening will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 555 S. Eola Road in Aurora.

Fox Fitness T-shirts, water bottles and light refreshments will be available, while supplies last.

Additionally, those who join on Sept. 3 can take advantage of free enrollment and the first 25 will receive a free Fox Fitness blanket. New members who join throughout September will be entered into a drawing to win an Apple Watch.

"The whole fitness center has been repainted to match our Fox Fitness theme," fitness manager Brett Meier said. "Bright, energetic colors, new LED TVs, new upholstery on all the fitness equipment and new carpet in the lobby area make for a much more inviting atmosphere."

Eola's Group Exercise Studio also has undergone a face-lift, featuring new paint and equipment, such as dumbbells, mats, bands and stability balls.

Other Fox Fitness amenities at Eola include:

• Full-service fitness floor with more than 95 pieces of cardio and weight-training equipment, plus free weights.

• State-of-the-art strength equipment, including Life Fitness, Precore, Hammer Strength, Body Masters and Cybex.

• Cardiovascular conditioning center with treadmills, upright and recumbent cycles, stair climbers and ellipticals.

• Complimentary towel service.

• Nationally-certified personal trainers and group exercise instructors.

• Three-lane indoor sports track.

• Passholder-access locker room with showers and sauna.

• Open gym, featuring badminton, basketball, table tennis and volleyball.

• Child care service.

The 63,000-square-foot Eola Community Center opened in 1993 through a joint effort between the park district and Aurora Public Library.

"We were due for a face-lift, and we're confident that both current and future members will enjoy the upgrades as they strive to achieve their personal fitness goals," Meier said.

"The additional space and equipment, not to mention the aesthetic improvements, will meet the needs of all members, no matter their workout preferences."
