Motley Crue's Vince Neil in Downers Grove

Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil will perform next month as part of the sixth annual Downers Grove Oktoberfest celebration sponsored by the Education Foundation of Downers Grove Elementary District 58.

The celebration runs from 3 to 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, in the Forest Parking Lot just north of the library in downtown.

All proceeds benefit District 58 schools.

Neil will perform songs such as "Wild Side," "Shout at the Devil" and "Home Sweet Home" at 9:30 p.m. Sept. 14.

Oktoberfest also will feature several local bands and an authentic German polka band. Performers include ARRA, North of Eight, Tarra, Tina Messmer-King, Dave & John Acoustics, and Frank K & Company, among others. A complete entertainment schedule is available at www.58foundation.org.

Oktoberfest will offer traditional German fare and beverages, as well as a Kids Zone, kids karaoke, a high school brat-eating contest and a doughnut-eating contest.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and teens all day Friday and before 6 p.m. Saturday. The fee increases to $25 after 6 p.m. Saturday for all ages.
