Showtime Theatre of Huntley to put on musical revue Aug. 23-25

It's Showtime Theatre of Huntley, the resident theater group of the Huntley Park District, brings to the stage the musical revue "Magical Musicals & Pixie Dust."

The family-friendly "Celebration of the Music of The Mouse" takes place at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 23-24, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25. All performances are staged at the Cosman Theater located in the Huntley Park District, 12015 Mill St., Huntley

Featuring a singing and dancing cast of more than 30 talented performers ranging from age 5 to adult, "Magical Musicals & Pixie Dust" brings to life songs from such celebrated musicals as "Lion King," "Aladdin," 'Frozen," "Mary Poppins," Moana," "Monsters Inc." "Jungle Book," "Hunchback of Notre Dame," "Aristocats," "High School Musical" and more.

"It's Showtime Theatre of Huntley is so excited to give life to this thrilling entertainment spectacular that will delight children and adults alike," says the production's Executive Producer Rikki Lee Travolta, who founded the theater company with the park district in 2017. "We will take you through a full range of positive emotions and have you leaving the show with a smile on your face and music in your heart."

It features a creative staff of director Aaron Gomez, music director Charlie Sommers, choreographer Shannon Lee Day, producer Jeff Schiewe, stage manager Kathie Comella, and park district liaison Stephanie Peters. Gomez conceived and directed It's Showtime's highly successful 2018 Broadway revue "Ticket to Broadway."

"It's Showtime Theatre and the Huntley Park District are dedicated to bringing first-class entertainment to Huntley at an affordable price," notes Travolta. "Magical Musicals and Pixie Dust fulfills that mission - it's great entertainment for the whole family at prices less than what you'd pay at any other theater company of this high quality."

Advance tickets for the magical musical revue are $15 for children and seniors and $20 for adults. Tickets are available by visiting the Huntley Park District website, www.huntleyparks.org/theater. For questions, reach Stephanie Peters at speters@huntleyparks.org. Remaining tickets will also be available at the door, but advanced purchase is recommended.

It's Showtime Theatre of Huntley will follow up the success of "Magical Musicals & Pixie Dust" with productions of "School House Rock Jr." and Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" in 2020.
