St. Charles to flush water main Aug. 20

On Tuesday, Aug. 20, the St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting water main flushing at Anthony Place, 1905 Althea Lane (Randall Road and Route 38).

The test will begin at approximately 8 a.m. and finish by 9 a.m. the same day.

Residents may experience rust in the water during or immediately after the testing procedure. The water is safe; however you may want to refrain from doing laundry until the water is clear. In the event rusty water discolors clothes while being laundered, please be sure to keep the clothing wet, and contact the Public Works Department at 630-377-4405 to request a rust-removing solution packet.

It is advised that drivers use caution in driving through areas being flushed due to water that may be on the pavement.
