'Last Call Before Fall' community festival in Geneva plans fun for all

Celebrate the final days of summer during Last Call Before Fall, a free community festival hosted by Rejoice Lutheran Church in Geneva. It will be noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at the church, 0N377 N. Mill Creek Drive.

With a lineup of activities from inflatables for kids to a Baggo tournament for adults, there is something for every member of the family to enjoy.

This annual fall festival is free to all, but food trucks will offer a variety of items for purchase, sure to please all taste buds, including Dave's Slow Food, Toasty Taco, Toasty Cheese, Crave Bar, Kona Ice and Pal Joey's. The event also will feature a beer tent.

As Chicago area cover band Recycle The Day plays popular hits throughout the afternoon, children will have the opportunity to participate in an obstacle course, bounce in inflatables and slip down slides, have their face painted, and more.

A petting zoo and pony rides also will be available.

But children won't be the only ones having fun. Adults can try their hand at axe throwing - the latest trend in group activities; check out the showcase of cars including Corvettes and a Tesla model X; or participate in a friendly Baggo tournament.

Additionally, a raffle will take place with prizes including Bears tickets. Proceeds from the raffle and other sponsorships will support Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity.

"Last Call Before Fall is the perfect way to bring the community together to celebrate the final days of summer and create memories that will last all year long with family, friends and neighbors," said Robin Beattie, Rejoice event organizer.
