Sahara Homecare co-sponsors annual IACCPHP meeting

The Illinois Association of Community Care Program Homecare Providers is celebrating 40 years of the Community Care Program.

The organizations represents approximately 40 homecare agencies based all over the state that are contracted with the Illinois Department on Aging to provide in-home assistance to seniors through the program.

Association members work with the Department on Aging and other aging network associations to improve Community Care Program services as well as other community-based services for seniors.

Sahara's Homecare Aides assist clients with everyday tasks that can become difficult due to old age and deteriorating health. Services include laundry, light housekeeping, meal preparation, grocery shopping, as well as help with feeding, grooming, bathing and dressing among others.

To qualify, potential clients must:

• Be 60 years or older;

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal alien;

• Be a resident of Illinois;

• Have non-exempt asset value of less than $17,500;

• Have an assessed need for care.

The IACCPHP meeting will be held on August 19, 2019 at Northern Illinois University in Naperville.
