Batavia Kiwanis to host Family Bingo Aug. 27 to raise funds for youth service leadership programs

The Kiwanis Club of Batavia will host its first Kiwanis Family Bingo Night at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Pal Joey's Restaurant, 2030 Main St., Batavia.

This year, the club has realigned some of their fundraising events to welcome more families both from the community as well as those from the participating youth service clubs at Batavia High School, Rotolo Middle School, and each of the six elementary schools in the Batavia Unit District 101 district.

The Kiwanis Club of Batavia Foundation hosts various programs within the Batavia community. There are eight Kiwanis-sponsored Youth Service Leadership Programs ranging from elementary age children (K-Kids), middle school (Builders Club), and to the high school (Key Club).

The programs support the transformation of students who become the next class of world leaders, and become engaged members of their communities who work to solve problems and help others through service.

This night of bingo and fundraising is open to all ages. Table reservations can be made by calling Pal Joey's at (630) 593-6600. First call will begin at 6 p.m. sharp. Cards are available for purchase at the door- $5 per single card and 6 for $25. Cards are reusable as we will use chips instead of daubers.

The Kiwanis Club of Batavia meets twice monthly from noon to 1 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at Andre's Restaurant, 5 Webster St., and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the downtown Batavia Panera, 154 W. Wilson St. You are invited to join any of the Kiwanis Club of Batavia meetings.
