Pastor to speak on 'God's Love for Invisible People' July 21

On Sunday, July 21, Advocate Aurora Health's Rev. Kirsten Peachey will speak "God's Love for Invisible People" at First Congregational Church in downtown Elgin.

Worship services are 8:15 and 10:15 a.m. at the church, 256 E. Chicago St. in Elgin.

Peachey will link Jesus' good news from an invisible God for people who are often invisible in American culture, including people are LGBTQ. She will draw upon her experiences as a woman who is also a lesbian.

Peachey is the director of Faith and Health Partnerships and co-director of the Center for Faith and Community Health Transformation for Advocate Aurora Health.

On July 28, it will be the Rev. Lois Bucher's farewell service, with special guest the Rev. James Olson of the Illinois Conference administering the ritual of closure.
